Indian Air Force fighter jet crashes in Rajasthan, two pilots killed

An Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jet crashed in Ratangarh tehsil of Churu in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The IAF has confirmed that both pilots on board the aircraft have been killed.

The Indian Air Force said in a post on ‘X’, ‘Today, during a routine training mission, an IAF Jaguar trainer aircraft crashed. It crashed in Churu district of Rajasthan. Both pilots were seriously injured in the accident and later died.

Churu district Superintendent of Police Jay Yadav said that the fighter jet crashed in the area adjacent to Bhabana Badavane village in Churu district at around 12:30 pm local time today. According to initial information, there were two pilots on board the aircraft. Initially, nothing was confirmed about their safety. Later, the IAF confirmed the news of the deaths.

Earlier, in April 2024, an IAF two-seater Jaguar fighter jet crashed in an open field in Suvarda village in Jamnagar district of Gujarat. One pilot was killed in the incident. The aircraft was still on a training mission.

According to initial information, there were two pilots in the plane. Initially, nothing was confirmed about their safety. Later, the Air Force confirmed the news of the deaths.

Earlier, in April 2024, an IAF two-seater Jaguar fighter jet crashed in an open field in Suvarda village in Jamnagar district of Gujarat. One pilot was killed in that incident. The aircraft was still on a training mission.

The two-seater Jaguar fighter jet was undergoing night training. It crashed in an open field next to the Kalavad highway, about 18 km from Jamnagar city.

Earlier, in March 2024, a Jaguar fighter jet crashed shortly after taking off from Ambala air base in Haryana. On the same day, another AN-32 transport aircraft made an emergency landing in Bagdogra, West Bengal.

However, the crew of both aircraft were able to safely eject. The Jaguar aircraft was reported to have crashed due to a technical problem. However, the reason for the emergency landing of the AN-32 aircraft was not immediately known.
